Its been over a month back home and it seems like I came back yesterday. Time really flies very quickly ever since I came home and I am glad that the first half of the semester is over.
I am writing today to summarise the adventures I had while I was leaping in America. Speaking of leaping, I cannot wait to celebrate the leap year in a few days time. Waited four long years to reunite with my birthday.
Getting the opportunity to travel to the states was a huge dream for me. I never had a thought of travelling to the other side of the world for a duration of 5 months. On top of that, It was a huge leap of faith to travel alone. I am glad to call it the “best decision of my life”
Thinking back, it was actually a blessing in disguise to travel alone. You might call me crazy, but travelling alone gave me all the reasons to meet new people, make a new “first impression” to others and learn to embrace the differences and similarities of people from a different race, religion and country.
To be honest, I never had the chance to get to know anyone from a different continent before embarking on my journey overseas. This experience has made the world a smaller place. I am blessed to meet people from almost all the other continents and I am gratified to call them friends who I can pick up the phone and have a chat about so many things.
I am dedicating this post to the cheerful, charismatic and caring people I met while I was Leaping in America. Get ready for some tears……of joy :’)
I am glad to cross paths with all of them.
There are many others who are not featured here who deserve a pat on the back for giving me a new perspective of life.
I am really hoping to meet all of them again someday, somewhere, somehow.
Leaping in America was a humbling experience which made a huge impact in my life.
I shall end with a quote.
The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it. Hubert H. Humphrey
