The value of superficial traits

Preferences are caused by differences. With all the varying types of ethnicities out there, there is bound to be a few which are more ‘preferred.’

There is ample of evidence that looks really matter. For those people out there who’s not blessed with good looks, please stop beating yourself up or try too hard to please others. It’s obvious and it has also been proven that certain groups of ethnicity are more likeable & their personality doesn’t really matter because their looks can entirely be enough for another party.

For men, having wealth would be a great advantage as it is a valuable trait admired by most women. The availability pool for rich men would be much larger as their wealth is deemed to be attractive, and their looks rarely matter in this case.

Beauty is not absolute. It’s based on the preferences of the opposite gender. The type of images & body shape that is shown in the media is based on the viewers’ liking. People don’t get to choose how to flaunt their body to attract attention. It’s been already decided based on the preferences of the viewers. Think about it, would a girl who only post ‘decent’ pictures of herself get as many followers and likes than girls who flaunt their sexiness by showing their skin? What do most ‘influencers’ have in common? They have a sexy figure and they are not afraid to flaunt it. They do this because it almost guarantees them to attain a higher ‘market value’ & gain as many followers. This is especially true for women only. For men, the ‘market value’ isn’t based on the amount of skin being exposed. It is more on their ‘talent’ such as singing, dancing & acting just to name a few.

At this point you might think that these ‘talents’ are applicable to women too. Yes it does, but it’s only half of the equation for most women. The other half lies in their ‘sexiness’ which I mentioned earlier, which rarely applies to men.

With all that is being said, this is not a binary subject & there is bound to be outliers. For people who didn’t win the genetic lottery, most of them would surely have to put in more effort, time & energy to find a mate than a person who is blessed with good looks.

Even if you have a great personality, most people will still not want a romantic relationship with you & it is best that you strive for self improvement & avoid being too clingy to others who will not appreciate your true worth. It is most definitely not your fault to be born in a body with features that isn’t ‘in demand.’

What remains beyond all the superficial traits is character & personality which can be developed & molded regardless of the type of background. There are plenty of other ‘markets’ that appreciates the ‘non-superficial’ traits which isn’t fixed at birth.
